9.  In Case of Winter

Come when the aliens have crashed in the willows,
Come when the leaves are washed red with Mars,
Come when the sun explodes in the bell tower,
Come when the dinosaurs are plundering the piano bar.

Show me how faintly my heart beats in your hands,
But hold it, my sweet, until the end,
That I should have a last labored breath or two,
And don't forget my love for you.
