Fleshy red fruit of South African psychotria
Just before ageing to black,
Brandy soaked Cuban cigars in vanilla/violet,
Freshly cut ghostweed, pear candle wax, bat wing,
Blueberry licorice,
A forgotten butterscotch in a raincoat pocket.

The elongated lip of the Asian painted nettle,
Serrated heart-leaf of false goldenrod,
Curled lances of nightshade leaves,
Dried honeycomb husk of killer bees,
Melting crayon on a wrought-iron bench,
Jet fuel, wind-stripped dandelion stalk,
Chloroform, drum leather, absinthe,
Petrified lacebark pine,
Black sand of a volcano beach.

The smell of your stunning nakedness
Beneath the moonlit willow,
Your fingers locked into mine.
