52. Forget Winter
I give you heaven in a dream.
Splintered, uneasy pieces,
Picassoesque jigsawed fragments
Demanding you snap them
Into something beautiful,
Implausible, haunting.
In your waking hours
You search for that unnatural place
As darkness paints the island sky,
Confectionary sand,
Rendering everything
Some afterglow of grey.
Everything out of my mouth
Glitters like comet tails, halos, sheet lightning.
Everything in my throat is a prayer
If my soul should break,
Let it be
In your slow and merciless hands. |
